Another Recently Heard Comment: My agent isn't doing anything for me, I'm not getting any auditions or anything WAHHHH! Reality: NO ONE is getting ANYTHING! The projects currently filming in the area are PRIMARILY using Los Angeles day players for the speaking parts ----- New Mexicans are getting EXTRA roles ---- DUHHH! Do NOT mistakenly ASSume that your agent or your agency is NOT trying to get you into auditions that will enable YOU to get a better chance at a speaking part. It's their skins too --- if you are not getting into auditions or speaking parts, you are not getting hired and your agent is NOT making MONEY ! Screw your head on straight and get it right! If you want to cry to someone try letting your agents know and both of you write to either the Governor's Office or to the Legislators who wrote and sponsored the bills that have enabled this mess to start. (Mr Ben Lujan & Mr Shannon Robinson) NM legislator Thomas E. Swisstack also has interests in the NM film Industry
Q: Why should I get an email and get on the Internet? A: Because the Industry is changing and more of the Biz is going electronic.
Q: Just what makes Ramfilms so special? A: Simply because it's a FREE website. All the information, casting calls, individual resumes, aid etc etc is FREE -- it simply does NOT get any better than that. This website has in the past and continues to help and support: SAG, ALL the local Casting Directors, EVERY local talent agency, every MAJOR motion picture that has come through the area, the state's Film Office, the governors office, the local IATSE union, the local Film Festival, local talent (whether they are on the site or not), MAJOR local film events, and out of state productions and talent among other things. Which is more than can be said for a lot of gas bags running around out there.
Q: I have an agent, but I get my own work, why should I pay my agent 10 % ? A: Ahhhh, the great bugaboo rears it's ugly head. Number 1: It's probably in the contract you signed with your agent in the first place. Number 2: Think of it as a tip, you scratch your agent's back with some green and your agent is more likely to remember you when it comes time for a juicy audition. Do NOT think of this as a bribe - that is a mistaken train of thought.
