Alan Rosenberg was the guest speaker at this, the 12th event of the SAG Conversations program at the Cell Theater in Albuquerque Sept. 17th, 2006. Mr Rosenberg (prefers to be called Alan), said that when he took the job on as the President of SAG his intention was to make a postive impact. He went on to say that he loves acting, the stage, and the relationships - the networking he's able to do with such "fantastic people".

Alan related how he learned and now appreciated the "economy" of acting. "When you're playing to the crew and not staying inside the camera, then you're doing something wrong.", he continued, "I know to be on time, know my lines and hit my mark."

When asked, "What advice can you give to actors for auditions?"
He replied,"Remember NATO - Not Attached To Outcome. Live through the thing, be flexiable, remember that many CDs are wondering, "Can he take direction?"

Alan was asked, "What has caught your eye about an actor when you have cast?"
"Seeing the prepardness of the actor."
The afternoon was exactly like a pleasant visit with an old friend, and for that,  Mr Rosenberg, we thank you.

"I know to make everyone else look good - acting is a group effort. Be part of the team"
"Actors lead a hard life - They get beat up by the casting people, they get beat up by the director, they get beat up by their agents, they get beat up by the critics, they get get beat up by the fans, they get beat up by the public, they beat themselves up. People beat us up and we beat ourselves up. "
